Is there anything Beyoncé can’t do? Does she even sleep?! The singer, actress and humanitarian is now the co-founder of Chime For Change, a new campaign to help empower women.
The other founders are actress Salma Hayek and Gucci creative director Frida Giannini. More info on the campaign will be coming out March 12, but for now, we know that Chime For Change is going to concentrate on the areas of education, health and justice. Check out the vid below:
“I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women,” Bey said about her involvement. “Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be.”
There are some serious stats out there when it comes to women’s rights, like the fact that one in three women worldwide will be physically or sexually assaulted during her lifetime. But there is also change in the air, like the work being done with One Billion Rising, Malala’s quest for universal education and the fact we have more female Senators than ever before.
“It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world,” Beyoncé said. “I'm honored to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies.” AMEN, Bey!
